Wedding Makeup Must Haves
On your wedding day you’re not going to have a backpack to tote every makeup product you own behind you. This is where sensible advance planning comes into play. If you’re applying your own makeup, it is even more important to pack the essentials so that you don’t have to improvise or do without.
Pack a small makeup survival kit and delegate which bridesmaid should be responsible for it. It is also important that this bridesmaid is always within reach, so choose a dependable person. Also, a point to note is that you should leave products at home that you’ve never tried. Your wedding day is really not the day to have a first time experience with a product.
Your wedding day checklist should include:
Strong and soft tissue or a handkerchief to dry up any tears. Be careful the tissue is not the type to leave behind lint on your face.
A small sample sized tube of lip gloss is a must. This should be the same shade you already would have on to reapply after kissing, eating and when your lip colour is fading. Ensure it has no chunks of glitter in it or is too sticky or gluey. A good backup is a tinted lip moisturiser in case you have issues with chapped lips.
If your wedding is outdoors and you have sinus issues or allergies, it is always a good idea to have eye drops or medication that you may need.
Oil absorbing sheets are the perfect portable solution to removing shine and excess oil from your face without disturbing your makeup.
A compact powder with a small mirror should also go into the kit. It should be the same colour of your foundation for quick touch ups as needed.
A small bottle of a refreshing spray would provide a cooling mist for the face if you start to feel hot and bothered.
Have a few cotton buds handy to clean up any under eye mugginess from mascara and eyeliner.
Add your favourite mascara into the kit in case you wipe it away with tears of joy.
Makeup remover wipes are necessary too. These provide quick removal of makeup at the very end of an important and possibly exhausting day.
One last thing that probably won’t fit into your survival kit is a drink of water. It is likely that you would feel thirsty somewhere in between the ceremony, photography session and reception. Make sure someone is always around to offer you a quick sip.
A well prepared bride is always ready for any eventuality. Ensure you go over your checklist twice the day before the wedding day for an incident free day.
