Professional Makeup Cases

A makeup professional is always on the move. Whether it is traveling by car, train or airplane, a makeup artist always has somewhere to go. A makeup artist’s kit is always chocked full with all kinds of products and tools that he/she cannot take with him/her whenever he/she needs to be on the go. This is where professional makeup travel cases come into play. From studio use and storage to transport and checking in at the airport, makeup cases are built to suit the demanding needs of the makeup artist.

Makeup Kit

A professional’s makeup kit must have the capacity to store many items, both large and small. These come in box shapes of varying sizes depending on the makeup artist’s collection. In order to maximise space the boxes usually have pull out shelves on either side that can store the smaller products in deep compartments. In some cases, the compartments are removable to customise the kit as well as to ease the cleaning process. In the bottom is the large enough space for storing the bigger items. The latches must be strong enough to still be secure even with the added weight. These kits have a handle on top so that the artist can tote it around for short distances. They must also be of a strong and sturdy material like aluminum to withstand heat and general wear and tear. They come in a variety of colours to suit anyone’s taste.

There are some makeup kits that are much larger and look like a stack of drawers. This gives the artist more room to pack products and organise the merchandise. This is very good for those that work with many different media and therefore would need a plethora of tools. These have telescopic handles so that it aids in carrying but also packs neatly in a corner. Wheels are another feature with this type of case so that the case does not drag along the ground. This also eases up the weight that the artists would feel at his/her back.

Traveling Cases

For those on the go, there are cosmetic cases made with the traveling artist in mind. These cases sport velcro or elastic straps so that the products do not move around and/or break and spill. Sometimes there are plastic zippered side panels so smaller items like lipsticks and glosses are secure. Adjustable interior dividers make packing the case easier, especially if the artist acquires new items on the trip. Wheels and a telescopic handle are standard in this type of case.

Makeup cases are a must for professional makeup artists in studio, on location or in transit.
