Professional Lighted Makeup Mirror

When it comes to applying makeup like an expert, a mirror can make or break a person’s appearance. Mirrors are very handy tools for a flawless makeup application, especially those that allow the person to get up close and personal by magnifying the reflection without bumping into the bathroom sink. Even better is when the makeup mirror is lit as this gives you hands down the best advantage for professional makeup application.

Lights on this type of makeup mirror often come with the option of different lighting settings. How ingenius is that! Settings for day, evening, office and home are versatile and necessary as the lighting in each of these settings is usually quite different. This way you can apply makeup in the darkest room and still be appropriate when you settle down to work in your office.

The mirrors contain light strips around the rim so that the lighting is full and even. Without even lighting, the effect of the lights would be counteractive and parts of the face would be in shadow. This is also why lighted mirrors often come with a natural sunlight setting so that you can plainly see if your foundation is the wrong shade or if you applied your face powder with a heavy hand.

The advantages of a lighted makeup mirror are numerous. It goes without saying that checking your makeup while you’re commuting in a poorly lit bus or subway is now a synch with a lighted travel mirror. Because it is compact, it is easy to carry in your handbag and flip it out whenever you need it. The light gives you the clarity to view details that you would have otherwise missed. Another advantage of a travel lighted makeup mirror is to double check foundation testing. Since foundation should ideally be tested in natural light and not the harsh lights of department stores, you can either leave the store with foundation streaks on your jaw or whip out your lighted mirror to verify which shade works best for your skin. Once you put the setting on natural light or sunlight, you would be in the best position to judge.

Some brands carry lighted mirrors that have three panels. This allows for angled viewing of the face so that you do not only see your makeup head on but also from the profile. This is perfect for checking to see how strong your cheek contouring and blush colours are. Garish side streaks will never be a concern again.

As you can plainly see, lighted mirrors are the way to go for a flawless makeup application. Even better are those with different lighting settings so you apply makeup suited for the anticipated lighting environments.
