Permanent Make Up, Lasting
Beauty
This type of make up has been a blessing
for women with scars, burn victims, or ex
chemotherapy patients whose eyebrows or
lashes never again grew normally following
this medical procedure.
Permanent make up is a cheap and effective
way to increase beauty. Not just designed
for Hollywood stars, it’ll save time
and improve anyone’s personal appearance.
It also eliminates the risk of allergic
and other reactions which many people have
got used to with standard make up. There
are two types of permanent make up: a more
superficial and a deeper one. The superficial
type is for the woman who wants to make
herself up but who doesn’t want to
bring out her features too much. The deeper
kind is one that definitively “sets”
the face’s features. These days, women
want to look more natural, younger, or well
looked-after. Few are those who have deep
permanent make up done.
Differences between permanent make up and
tattoos
Permanent make up is a modified form of
the ancient art of tattoo. The result is
a pretty face in which the pigment that
has been deposited brings out the natural
features, giving new “life”
to the face. Just think of the time saved
by someone whose eyeliner and/or lipstick
is always ready and perfectly put-on, besides
being able to go for a swim in the sea,
to give one example, without the make up
suffering in the slightest; these are two
significant advantages of permanent make
up.
Tattoos are permanent, the pigments used
are powerful and loaded with lead aggregates.
This type of make up lasts no more than
3-5 years, depending on the pigment, and
the equipment used penetrates the epidermis
by up to 0,07mm. The pigments used are of
vegetable origin, generally of North American
origin. Their principal outstanding quality
is that they are lead-free.
Permanent make up procedure
Known as dermapigmentation, this is a process
whereby natural pigments are inserted microscopically
into the skin’s upper layer. The technique
has been proven not to cause side-effects,
but one should nevertheless ensure one knows
in whose hands one is placing oneself. Permanent
make up is generally done by a specialist
who might be a beautician or a makeup artist
with the appropriate specialisation, or
certain doctors and nurses. Various procedures
are used, among which traditional tattooing
equipment, special needles and some manually-operated
tools, velvet needles stand out. These machines
and tools deposit pigments, of the desired
colours, beneath the skin, with disposable
needles, and are noise-free. The pigments
the make up is made of are essentially vegetable-based.
In any case, before going back home, a laser
session is undergone by the person treated,
to help regenerate tissues, reduce irritation
and assist healing The whole process generally
takes about three quarters of an hour.
There is no risk of allergy for patients,
and to reaffirm the procedure, a follow-up,
including check-up, take place two weeks
later. This is always advisable for the
make up to end up as both natural and discreet,
so much so that after the second session
a 35% “lightening” is achieved
on what was done in the first instance.
It’s worth bearing in mind that a
slight swelling or increase in volume takes
place in the treated area, which is temporary.
In terms of advice; it’s important
for the person treated –for at least
10 days following the treatment –
not to go to the beach, as the face cannot
be exposed directly to the sun. Besides
this, the face should be kept away from
the kitchen stove Bacitracin must be applied
and by no means should the scab be removed.
Avoiding anything hot is crucial; otherwise
the outline may turn blue, red or green.
Steps to follow:
1. Cleaning the area to be treated with
dermatological soap and disinfectant
2. Previous application of cream anaesthetic
for external use, to reduce pain
3. Drawing out the area to be treated.
Recommended for:
a) Filling out eyebrows, including sparse
eyebrows.
b) Lining the eyes, above and below.
c) Lining the lips, widening, reducing,
correcting or shortening them.
d) Drawing attractive moles.
e) Cleaning up scars and stretch marks.
f) Particularly recommended for patients

How long does this make up last?
This permanent make up lasts about 5 to
7 years and will essentially depend upon
the technique used in pigmentation, as well
as the materials employed. On someone with
a swarthy complexion it’ll last three
years, while if the skin is “blonde”
it’ll last 5. These figures vary within
the cosmetics industry.
