Makeup Brush Set
Let’s start with the facts: makeup brushes are not only the most important tools for any makeup guru or aficionado but they also cost a pretty penny. Buying them individually can be an expensive way of acquiring a decent set of brushes. On the bright side, you can save up to buy the essential brushes as you need them that are critical to a flawless makeup application. Many online and department stores give you the choice to create a custom set of brushes.
These are your makeup brush must haves:
Thick powder brush
A dense brush is very soft on the face and applies an even layer of powder to set the foundation and mattify the skin.
Angled blush brush
The angle in this brush allows it to do double duty. Use it to contour the sides of the face as well as to apply colour to the apples of the cheeks.
Foundation brush
This is a flat brush of synthetic hair which applies liquid foundation in a naturally beautiful way.
Kabuki brush
This is a cute little brush that I cannot do without. If you use this to buff on powder you would achieve an almost airbrushed finish to your skin. It also does well in applying bronzer to the face.
Concealer brush
With its small flat bristles made out of synthetic fibres, it applies and seamlessly blends concealer around the eyes, nose and mouth and over other imperfections on the face.
Mascara wand
Another brush that has a multiple purpose. You can use this to buff out harsh lines of eyebrow pencil or to apply mascara to lashes.
Lash and brow comb
The mini comb separates lashes for a natural look and the brow brush is used to groom the eyebrows.
Blending brush
This is a makeup artist favourite. The brush is fluffy yet stiff and takes the guesswork out of blending eye shadows into a gradient, especially in the crease area.
Fluffy medium eye shadow brush
This is used to apply all over eye shadow colour on the eyelids.
Stiff medium eye shadow brush
You use this one to pat on the colour to the eyelids. Its stiffness does not allow the eye shadow power to readily penetrate the bristles and this provides maximum colour payoff.
Crease/Pencil brush
This brush expertly places colour on the lower lash line, crease and outer third corner of the eyes.
Stiff angled brush
This can be easily used to groom the eyebrows as well as draw precise lines of eyeliner.
Mini detail brush
Perfect for detail work in the lachrymal areas of the eyes.
These brushes would well get you started on your way to accomplishing a well blended and professional makeup look.
