Look Natural Makeup
We all want it. We all want to look naturally fabulous. We agonise ourselves by looking at pictures of celebrities and think they roll out of bed looking that way. As if we don’t know that they have wardrobe attendants, hairstylists and makeup artists at their disposal. As if they do not have the same problems we have. Think about it for a minute: if they, as ordinary women, can look so good, why can’t we?
Celebrities and persons who find themselves in the limelight often have the same skin issues as the women on the street. So what makes them so different to the rest of us? Well, they have graphic artists with Photoshop. They also surround themselves with the best and learn from them. The same information is available to us mere mortals but we have to make a conscious effort to find it, absorb it and put it into action. Here is some information that can get you started on the road to looking like a local celebrity.
To look natural with makeup on is different from natural looking makeup. The former is being comfortable with yourself and requires less makeup as it’s really about the skin as well as a very light makeup application. The other deals with applying makeup to enhance natural beauty. In this article we will deal with the initial issue.
Ways to Look Natural in Makeup
Do facials and masks often to improve the tone and texture of the skin. Makeup can conceal the tone of the skin very well but masking the texture is trickier. The aim with look natural makeup is to show off how wonderfully healthy the skin is.
Treat blemishes and irritations with medicine.
Forfeit liquid and cream foundations and go for a simple sunscreen.
Apply light dots of concealer only where you need it. The most common places are on under eye circles, around the corners of the nostrils and any spots or blemishes. Do not forget to use some concealer on the eyelids to even out the tone there.
Use a cream or gel blush in a very light and natural colour. Apply gently only to the apples of the cheeks and blend outwards to the temples. It is important that this product has no shimmer or iridescence to it. Remember the goal is to look natural, as if you have on no makeup at all. Using a cream blush looks more natural than a powdered formula. Press a clean tissue to the cheeks to blot off excess product.
With a dense powder brush, apply a light dusting of a shine control powder all over the face.
Apply a touch of subtly tinted lip balm to the lips.
For the eyes, use a matte eye shadow that perfectly matches your skin tone.
Groom both eyebrows and eyelashes with clear mascara. Do a quick plucking to brows if necessary, but be sure to not overdo.
On the other hand, some natural makeup products still contain moderate levels of skin irritants like dyes and fragrances that are often synthetic. Lines are also compiling both natural and synthetic ingredients which can still irritate sensitive skin.
What to Look For?
Mass produced lines must have some level of chemical preservative. A good rule is to simply observe the consistency of the product. If the product does not contain water (for example is in a powder form), there is no need for a preservative. Otherwise, gels, mousses, creams and liquids must employ ingredients to maximise the shelf life.
Plant and flower extracts are often not kind to those with acne, Rosacea and sensitive skin. Look for products with plant oils instead as these are gentler on the skin.
Oh! So now you know what celebrities do before they leave home to do ordinary chores like going to the grocery or taking the children for a stroll. Try it and see how naturally flawless you look in your own skin.
