Clean Makeup Brushes
If you use makeup everyday and/or use them on a variety of clients, you know just how dirty makeup brushes can get. The brushes ate subjected to a treatment even worse in the rush and confusion that can accompany a photo shoot or backstage at a fashion show or pageant. Brushes are used more than once; brushes fall to the floor; brushes are not cleaned properly in between makeup applications. For makeup artists and makeup lovers alike it is extremely important to use clean makeup brushes for each application. So why go through the hassle of cleaning your brushes after you do a makeup look? Here are the many reasons why:
1. Used makeup brushes are coated with makeup residue.
2. Residual makeup can contaminate a new makeup application and give your freshly done face an overall dirty look.
3. Hiding in the bristles of used makeup brushes are dead skin cells and body oil, which creates the perfect breeding ground for bacteria.
4. Cleaning the brushes helps them keep the original shape so that it continues to work perfectly.
5. Makeup brushes that are cleaned regularly have a longer life than those that are neglected.
6. Colour payoff is better and truer with a clean brush than a dirty one.
7. Natural makeup brushes are made with natural bristles like pony, sable and badger hair just to name a few. These are like the hair on your head that are subject to oiliness and product build up.
8. A dirty makeup brush can cause skin breakouts and irritations like redness and itching and even exacerbate existing acne.
9. Contamination of products is very possible when a dirty brush is swirled inside it.
10. Contagious diseases like conjunctivitis are easily spread from one person to another by using products contaminated by dirty makeup brushes or uncleaned brushes themselves.
11. Storing clean brushes in a dirty container is counteractive as dirt from the storage area is easily passed on the bristles of the brushes.
12. Cleaning sponge tipped brushes is never completely sanitary as it is almost impossible to get the sponge perfectly clean.
13. Sharing makeup brushes quickly contaminates them.
14. Disposable makeup applicators are just that, disposable. These were not designed for reuse and should be thrown out after one use before you are tempted to reuse them.
As you can see your best weapon in a perfect makeup application can become your worst enemy if it is not taken care of in the nest way possible. Clean your brushes after each and every use so that not only your skin can be clear of bacteria and irritation but also so that your brushes can perform at an optimum level.
