To turn your makeup into a work of art, you first need to know some very easy tips that will produce an impressive result.

A Very Appetizing Mouth

It’s very important for the lips to be well cared for, so we should always moisturize them so that they don’t crack or peel, ruining the final result.

To remove any loose skin, we can use a special exfoliant for lips. It will help to remove dead skin cells without damaging the skin, since the lips are a very sensitive area. Another trick to improve the way our face looks and get rid of dead skin is to soak a cotton in warm water and apply it over the lips for a few seconds.

For dry or cracked lips, we need to apply the right creams for this area at least twice a day. Even though lipsticks are more and more healing and moisturizing, there is no substitute for a good cream; this is even more important when it comes to lips that have a tendency to get dry or irritated.

Make Your Mouth the Perfect Size

• To make thin lips bigger, first merge the hue of the mouth with the rest of the face by putting foundation on the lips. Now outline them with a lipliner in beige, nude or of the same lipstick hue that you are going to use. Apply a lighter hue in the center of the mouth to give an image of volume.
• To make lips that are too thick slightly thiner, apply foundation on the contour of the mouth to rase the natural color, and outline them on the inside.
• To even the size of the lips: If you only want to correct one lip, outline the lip that needs correction on the inside or on the outside (to make larger or smaller).

Impacting Eyes

Eyes made up in black are the order of the day, but they are not easy to achieve. To get great results, I propose that you follow a series of tips:

• The first thing that I propose is that you apply dark circle concealer, also applying it on the eyelid to even out the skin hue and make the eyeshadow to stick better. But don’t apply foundation, as black eyeshadow smudges a lot and the foundation will look too darkened.
• Now we’re going to begin to apply the eyeshadow. Mark an arch just on top of the natural crease of the eyelid. You can do it with your eyes open (what’s more, that way you’ll see where the eyeshadow is going to go). Once you have marked the shape, fill in the eyelid with the eyeshadow, using light touches to deposit the product, and then blend.
• Once you have put the black eyeshadow on the eye, apply foundation and finish putting makeup on your lips and add blush.
• Apply mascara. It’s very important that you mark your eyelashes from the roots to the tips so that they’ll be highlighted. If not, you’ll hardly be able to see them and they will look unfinished. On many occasions, when we’re putting on makeup, we get our eyelid dirty with the mascara. Don’t worry; this is easily solved. Let it dry and remove the excess with a cotton swab. Once the product is dry, it can be easily cleaned.
• If the brush that comes with the mascara has excess product, use an eyelash brush. Dip it in mascara and apply it; that way you’ll avoid making your eyelashes look flat. What’s more, the eyelash brush will be useful for combing your eyebrows and eyelashes.

Blush, an Important Detail

Blush is another detail that’s important in makeup’s final result. You should apply it on the cheek area, from the nostrils to the end of your eyebrows.

If we apply blush just on top of the cheek, it won’t add any correction, but it will give your skin and face a healthy look in general.

To apply blush on the perfect area, smile lightly and put a small quantity on the area of the cheeks that will be highlighted when smiling, just to give a touch of blush (a small quantity; remember that it’s always easier to apply more to heighten the hue than to reduce it).

If you put on too much of the product, blend the area with a clean brush and apply loose white powder on top.

If what you want to do is correct and raise the cheekbone, apply two hues: Apply the light one on the cheek and below the eye, blending toward the temples, and the dark one just below the dark hue. Blend them well so that they mix together and lose any abrupt changes; that way it will look natural and the correction won’t be obvious. It’s important that you keep in mind that we apply light colors where we want to raise, give volume, and dark colors where we want to give a sense of depth.

I hope that these simple trips will prove very useful to you, that you’ll enjoy them and take advantage of them, turning your makeup into a true work of art that everyone will look at, envy and desire. Go for it!

If there’s something that’s key for your personal image at a party, it’s your makeup. The best dress in the world will not look as good if you’re not wearing makeup that matches the occasion.

Take a look at the celebrities, from Jennifer Lopez to Nicole Kidman. When they go to parties and events, they not only pay special attention to their dress but also to their makeup and hair.

The day of the party

Try to rest the day before. There’s nothing like a replenishing night of rest for the skin to recuperate. If you haven’t been able to sleep a lot or well, try to take a nap (but remember to not take a nap that’s longer than 20 minutes; experts affirm that it’s enough to recuperate and provide all the energy that the body needs). A night of replenishing rest does wonders to eliminate dark circles and for the skin to look healthy and rested, so that your makeup will definitely look perfect.

STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR IMPECCABLE PARTY MAKEUP

SKIN, three quick basic steps before beginning

With your skin completely clean, follow these steps:

1. Apply a serum

Serum is a concentrated product that helps revitalize your skin. There are also serums that treat wrinkles or tha add light or moisture. Buy a serum so that your skin will look healthy instantly. Remember that there are also serums that come in one-dose ampules, as this product usually is expensive since it’s concentrated. Remember to always choose a product that works with your skin and the needs you may have. If you have very pretty skin or you are younger than 25, you can skip this step. Remember that serum is applied before moisturizer.

2. Eye contour:

Apply eye contour cream if you usually use it before applying moisturizing cream.

3. Moisturizing cream:

Apply moisturizer over your whole face with a soft massage in circular ascending moves; that way you will benefit more from the cream, as when your blood circulation is activated, cream absorbs better and is more efficient.

TIP: Wait a few minutes so that the cream completely absorbs before beginning to apply makeup. That way your makeup will last longer.

STEP-BY-STEP MAKEUP

CONCEALER, it will change your face.

This is an essential step for evening or party makeup. First correct the dark circles and the blue areas of your face (for example, little veins or scars) and then correct red areas (small pimples, recent scars, sun spots…).

DARK CIRCLE CORRECTION

This step depends on the type of concealer you buy. Some can be applied before the foundation (usually these have a thicker texture and have greater coverage) or after the foundation (these usually have a lighter texture). Be sure that when you buy the product, you find out how it can be used; the steps are the same.

TIPS FOR APPLYING CONCEALER

-Apply concealer around your eyes just where the dark circle is.

-It’s easier to apply the concealer with a synthetic hair brush. Some already come with the brush.

-Once the concealer has been applied with the brush, blend it with the tips of your fingers. Remember to not put on too much or you will create expression lines in this very delicate area.

-Apply the concealer over the whole eyelid – yes, over the whole eyelid. This is a very dark area of the face. The concealer will unify the hue and will also help your eye shadow last longer.

Once the dark circles have been corrected, notice how this easy step has significantly improved your gaze. Continue correcting the rest of the blue areas. Follow the same technique. First apply the concealer with a brush and then blend softly with the tips of your fingers to avoid product excess.

TIP: if you don’t have dark circles but instead have BAGS UNDER YOUR EYES, avoid using concealer on the area of the bag – just around it.

RED AREA CORRECTION

The technique is the same as in the previous step. Apply the concealer over the pimple or the area to correct and then blend with the tip of your finger.

TIP: If you have acne, try to buy a concealer that besides blending, treats and helps eliminate it.

FOUNDATION that will last all night

Except if your skin is dry, try to use a foundation with medium or maximum coverage, as, for example, a matte, oil-free liquid foundation or a cream foundation. Since these have greater coverage, they last longer and leave the skin completely velvety, perfect for party makeup.

ADVICE FOR APPLYING FOUNDATION THAT LASTS ALL NIGHT

-Apply your foundation with a sponge.

-Apply the foundation with downward movements, combing the face.

-Use enough of the product to cover the entire face but avoid excess by passing a clean sponge over the face.

-Don’t forget to apply foundation on the eyelid and over the dark circles.

-Be especially careful when you apply foundation over the areas where you’ve already applied concealer. In these areas, apply the foundation with light touches in order not to drag the product.

TIP: Wait a few minutes before continuing to apply makeup so that the foundation sets.

MATTE POWDER for sealing

An important step for your makeup to last all night is to apply matte powder over the foundation. Besides removing shininess, it will seal the foundation.

ADVICE FOR APPLYING MATTE POWDER

-You can use loose or compact powder, as you prefer, but apply it with a puff to set the foundation.

-Avoid using too much of the product, dusting the face lightly with a clean brush after applying the powder with a puff.

-Use a hue that’s the same as your foundation or transparent.

MAKE UP YOUR EYES LIKE THE CELEBRITIES

Here we’ll let you in on three different styles so that you can adapt them to your dress, your technique and your face.

GOLDEN TONES, elegance and glamour

It’s one of the quintessential colors in party makeup; besides, this hue is very flattering for all kinds of faces.

ADVICE FOR APPLYING MAKEUP IN GOLDEN HUES

-Apply a gold hue of medium intensity on your eyelid up to the eye bone.

-Blend it with a brush so that no lines will be visible.

- Just below the eyebrow, apply a much lighter golden tone than the one you’ve used on the eyelid, to give light and lift the gaze.

-Apply a dark golden hue just among the lower eyelashes; that way your eye will look bigger.

-Apply a considerable amount of black mascara.

TIP: Use a matte golden tone if you have a wrinkled eyelid or lines of expresión. You can give the touch of shine on the upper eye.

This makeup is perfect if:

-Your technique is not very good but you want to make up your eyes.

-You have small eyes.

-You are wearing a gold or black dress.

SMOKY EYES, a sexy look on the spot

This style is one of the classics that is never out of style and that will always be the right move.

ADVICE FOR MAKING UP SMOKY EYES

-Make up the eye on the inside with a black pencil, both on the upper lid and on the bottom lid.

-Follow the same step applying the pencil on the upper and lower eyelid. It’s better to draw a thin line and increase the color little by little.

-Blend the pencil with a brush impregnated with black or gray eyeshadow.

-Blend up to the area of the bone so that no lines are left.

-Blend the lower lid with a fine brush.

-Apply a brilliant white hue on the upper eye.

-Make up your eyelashes with intensity. Use a curler first and then two coats of black mascara.

TIP: If you’ve chosen this makeup, take a black pencil with you to be able to touch up the eyeliner when you need it. If you’ve never made up your eyes like this, do it the day before to try out how it looks and see if it looks OK:

This makeup is perfect for you if:

-You have good technique and know how to blend eyeshadows well.

-You have big eyes or light-colored eyes.

-It goes well with any color dress, since black matches everything.

NATURAL LOOK, classic and a sure bet

A fresh and natural look, you can also turn it into party makeup.

ADVICE FOR NATURAL MAKEUP

-Apply a light, shiny eyeshadow (use a matte eyeshadow if your eyelid is wrinkled) over the whole eyelid, from the roots of the eyelashes to the eyebrow.

-Use a cream, bone or beige hue.

-Make up your eyes on the inside with a white or cream pencil to open the gaze and make the eye bigger.

-Apply a good coat of mascara.

-Use a blush that looks good on you and blend it so that it looks natural.

-Make up your lips in a lively color.

TIP: Apply glitter on the high part of the cheekbone to add a festive touch.

This makeup is perfect for you if:

-Your technique is not very good.

-You have nice lips and you like to make them up (don’t use this technique if your lips are small)

-You don’t have a lot of time to fix yourself up but you want to look elegant.

LIGHT UP YOUR FACE, the final touch!

This is an easy, quick step that will give your makeup that festive and special touch for the party.

TIPS FOR LIGHTING UP YOUR FACE

-Apply an illuminating powder on the T-zone (forehead, chin and the high part of the cheekbone)

-If you don’t have any, you can use a pearly white eyeshadow instead.

-Blend it with a brush so that the result looks natural.

Now that the good weather is here, do you know how to wear makeup foundation? Does your skin look dull, but you don’t know how to put on makeup to give your face life? Do you want to have radiant skin through discreet makeup? Keep on reading because we’re going to let you in on six very easy makeup tips for applying summer foundation and leaving your skin simply radiant.

PREPARE YOUR SKIN

This makeup tip is almost the most important one. If your skin isn’t exfoliated or moisturized, your foundation won’t look good. Follow this short routine once a week or when necessary:

Exfoliate your skin

Exfoliate your skin with a soft scrub (avoid aggressive exfoliants that are too tough on the skin) that will leave your skin moisturized and clean after using it and without rendness (if your skin turns red, it’s because the exfoliant you’re using is too strong).

Moisturize your skin

Apply a moisturizing mask afterwards. Choose one that, besides moisturizing, will calm and give a fresh look to your face.

Once you’ve completed this small ritual, you can apply your usual moisturizers (remember that they should also contain solar protection now in the summer).

CHOOSE YOUR HUE

Choose a foundation of a lighter texture than the one you usually use but still of the same color as your skin. Don’t try to look tanned by applying a darker makeup foundation, as the effect will be the opposite.
If you apply foundation on your cheeks and it blends with the color of your skin, that’s the right hue! Never try foundation on your hand, as the color of your skin has nothing to do with the color of your face.

CORRECT!

Once you’ve chosen the makeup foundation, the next step is to apply an illuminating concealer that will light up your gaze but that will also correct dark circles and redness (such as acne marks, spots or blemishes…).
Apply the concealer before or after the foundation, according to the product’s indications. Usually illuminating concealers are applied over the foundation.

Apply it on any areas that you want to correct and then softly blend it with the tip of your finger so that it mixes well and looks natural. Remember that even though you want to add a lot of light, if you use too light a tone, it will not look natural, so the measurement for choosing the concealer hue is one or two hues lighter than your skin.

APPLY THE FOUNDATION

When you apply foundation, keep these steps in mind:

       • Begin at the T-zone and blend in a downward motion.
• Wipe off any excess with a clean sponge.
• Apply a small quantity and increase little by little.

GET TAN

Once you’ve applied the foundation, it’s time to turn on the color! Use a bronzer powder (they’re also called sun powders) slightly darker than your skin hue. Try to choose a powdered product so that you can apply it with a brush. It will be much easier to manage. Follow these tips when applying bronzer powder.

      • Make sure the brush is clean.
• Begin applying it from the roots of the hair toward the center of the face.
• Apply a greater quantity of the product on the bones of the face and blend well.
• Increase the hue in the areas where a tan is usually noticed, such as on your forehead, cheeks and chin. That way you’ll create a suntan effect.
• Apply the product on your cheeks as if it were blush, increasing the intensity.
