6 Makeup Tips for Perfect Summer Makeup Foundation
Now that the good weather is here, do you know how to wear makeup foundation? Does your skin look dull, but you don’t know how to put on makeup to give your face life? Do you want to have radiant skin through discreet makeup? Keep on reading because we’re going to let you in on six very easy makeup tips for applying summer foundation and leaving your skin simply radiant.
PREPARE YOUR SKIN
This makeup tip is almost the most important one. If your skin isn’t exfoliated or moisturized, your foundation won’t look good. Follow this short routine once a week or when necessary:
Exfoliate your skin
Exfoliate your skin with a soft scrub (avoid aggressive exfoliants that are too tough on the skin) that will leave your skin moisturized and clean after using it and without rendness (if your skin turns red, it’s because the exfoliant you’re using is too strong).
Moisturize your skin
Apply a moisturizing mask afterwards. Choose one that, besides moisturizing, will calm and give a fresh look to your face.
Once you’ve completed this small ritual, you can apply your usual moisturizers (remember that they should also contain solar protection now in the summer).
CHOOSE YOUR HUE
Choose a foundation of a lighter texture than the one you usually use but still of the same color as your skin. Don’t try to look tanned by applying a darker makeup foundation, as the effect will be the opposite.
If you apply foundation on your cheeks and it blends with the color of your skin, that’s the right hue! Never try foundation on your hand, as the color of your skin has nothing to do with the color of your face.
CORRECT!
Once you’ve chosen the makeup foundation, the next step is to apply an illuminating concealer that will light up your gaze but that will also correct dark circles and redness (such as acne marks, spots or blemishes…).
Apply the concealer before or after the foundation, according to the product’s indications. Usually illuminating concealers are applied over the foundation.
Apply it on any areas that you want to correct and then softly blend it with the tip of your finger so that it mixes well and looks natural. Remember that even though you want to add a lot of light, if you use too light a tone, it will not look natural, so the measurement for choosing the concealer hue is one or two hues lighter than your skin.
APPLY THE FOUNDATION
When you apply foundation, keep these steps in mind:
• Begin at the T-zone and blend in a downward motion.
• Wipe off any excess with a clean sponge.
• Apply a small quantity and increase little by little.
GET TAN
Once you’ve applied the foundation, it’s time to turn on the color! Use a bronzer powder (they’re also called sun powders) slightly darker than your skin hue. Try to choose a powdered product so that you can apply it with a brush. It will be much easier to manage. Follow these tips when applying bronzer powder.
• Make sure the brush is clean.
• Begin applying it from the roots of the hair toward the center of the face.
• Apply a greater quantity of the product on the bones of the face and blend well.
• Increase the hue in the areas where a tan is usually noticed, such as on your forehead, cheeks and chin. That way you’ll create a suntan effect.
• Apply the product on your cheeks as if it were blush, increasing the intensity.
