The other day I found a subscriber in a clothes store and she commented to me that she would like me to give her more tricks for people that are not so young. When she told me that I asked her, but how old are you? She said she was fifty. I could not believe it: she did not look even forty! I still took note and here I am with some tricks to look beautiful and with fashion… at any age!

Let’s start at the beginning…

My mother is seventy but still looks a lot younger, my best friend is forty four but she looks my age, and if they have something in common is that they take care of themselves for a long time now, paying attention to looking beautiful and not on looking younger.

But it is true that there are things that we could do when we are twenty that we can’t do after we turn thirty. But don’t worry; today I bring you some “rules” that, regardless of the age you have, they will help you to look radiant!

Take care of your skin

It doesn’t matter if you are twenty or seventy: you have to take care of your skin daily. I always say that at twenty we moisturize and prevent, at thirty we treat and after forty we reaffirm. If you want to have a beautiful skin starting today, start taking care of it now. Here I bring you three basic “rules” to have a good skin:

Always protect it from the sun!

Clean it day and night, with no excuses.

use creams and treatments that are specific for your skin type

Use makeup with measure

It does not matter if you are twenty or seventy; if you are wearing too much makeup the result will not be pretty, even if your skin is perfect. Follow these three rules to do your makeup and you will be radiant:

use a makeup foundation that adapts to your skin tone and skin type.

Never forget your eyes and always have the mascara handy, concealer and an eye pencil.

Do not overcharge your lips. Red lips are worn a lot, but if they do not suit you, choose a favoring gloss.

Dress to highlight your beauty

The image that you project is important, and in this case, age does carry weight. You have to look for pieces that favor you and avoid the ones that do not. These are the three rules for style to look always perfect:

Use colors as allies: look for the one that favors your and use it to give light to your look.

Choose accessories wisely: they will give you the glamour that you need.

If you are not passionate about it, do not buy it: I never go back home with a garment if it does not convince me.

How to have radiant skin step by step…

I’ve got fair skin that tends to get red, and it’s combination skin that’s very sensitive… Let me tell you – even though my esthetician says I have very good skin, it’s practically impossible for me to get my skin looking perfect, and now that I’m over thirty, it would almost be a miracle! That’s why, as you can imagine, when I do my makeup, my goal is to correct, moisturize, and enhance my skin. In fact, for me this is the most important part of my makeup. If you make your eyes up very well, but you don’t correct your under eye circles or the shade of your skin, you won’t get a good result! That’s why I’ve decided to write this “special radiant skin newsletter” to tell you all of my most secret tricks for getting impeccable skin!…

How to have radiant skin step by step…

I know that a lot of you are most interested in how to make up your eyes. I can understand that, because your eyes are one of the prettiest parts of your face, and you want to make the most of them. But let me tell you that if you want to make the most of your skin, and you know what kind of foundation to use for your needs, and most importantly, you know how to apply it, then the rest of your makeup is almost an afterthought.

Unlike other professionals and makeup enthusiasts, I think preparing and making the most of my skin is one of the most important things when doing a clean, elegant makeup look, because, really, you can do a wonderful job on your eyes, but if you can’t conceal your circles or add luminosity, your efforts will have been in vain. So follow these steps so you can make the most of your skin, once and for all.

Skin care

The first and most important is to follow these steps before applying makeup:

Cleanse

Moisturize eye area

Moisturize skin

PROFESSIONAL SECRETS

If you notice that your skin looks dull and lifeless, apply a gentle exfoliator before doing your makeup. Then wait a few minutes and moisturize. You’ll see how quickly your skin recovers its luminosity. Remember: the exfoliator should be gentle, because if it’s not, your skin will get red and you’ll have to wait at least a half hour before you can apply makeup.

Before applying makeup

Before applying makeup, it’s very important to correct your face well. Follow these steps:

1. Under eye circles

Use a cream concealer if you have very deep circles, and apply it over the circles and in the inner corners of your eyes.

Then blend with a fingertip to remove excess product.

If your circles are not too marked, you can use an illuminating concealer over your foundation.

PROFESSIONAL SECRETS

Apply concealer over your entire lid, since this is one of the darkest areas of the face. This will brighten up your eyes for any type of makeup look.

2. Red areas and other imperfections

The next step is to correct all blemishes and red areas of the skin, such as minor imperfections, pigmentation, etc.

PROFESSIONAL SECRETS

If you have a lot of blemishes, use a concealer designed to dry them out, and apply it before applying foundation. After applying foundation with a synthetic bristle brush, go back and put concealer (just a little) over the blemish, and apply loose powder with a powder puff to blend the edges so it isn’t noticeable. You’ll see how any mark will disappear. However, avoid using too much product or you’ll get the opposite effect: the blemish will be even more noticeable. J

Steps to make the most of your skin

1. Your color

The first thing you need is to know what color of foundation is right for you. Follow these suggestions:

If you have pink undertones – If your skin has pink undertones, choose a foundation with pink pigments in the formula. The purpose of foundation is to even out your skin tone, not change it, so if you want to add color, apply bronzing powder.

If you have yellowish undertones - If your skin has yellowish undertones, just as with the case above, choose a shade with yellow pigments to neutralize and even out your skin tone.

For all skin types – It doesn’t matter if you have dark or light skin or cool or warm skin, the color you choose should be the same shade as your skin —not darker, not lighter. Before buying a foundation, always try it on your face. If it blends into your skin, that’s your shade!

2. Your texture

Depending on your skin type, you may need more or less coverage. Follow these suggestions:

Normal skin – If you are lucky enough to have normal skin, you can choose practically any foundation you want. However, the best texture is a light liquid. Since you don’t have imperfections, you won’t need much coverage. Tinted moisturizers are also good for you

Combination skin – The best texture for you is oil-free liquid. Don’t choose a powder foundation or one with too much coverage, because this will dry out the drier areas of your combination skin.

Oily skin – Your best option is a cream or powder foundation. Choose a cream if you want more coverage, because powders are usually fairly light.

Dry skin – Your best option is a liquid foundation with moisturizing oils. Remember to avoid using powder, since it will dry out your skin.

3. How to apply foundation, step by step

The first step is hydration.

Next, concealer.

Then apply foundation, using downward strokes so as not to dirty the pores. You can apply the product with a sponge, your fingertips, or a brush. I recommend that you use a sponge or brush (especially for cream and liquid textures), since it’s harder to spread foundation with your fingertips.

Once your foundation has been applied, mattify shininess that the foundation has not covered, using a powder puff dipped in powder. If you don’t have any shininess, don’t apply anything; you will just dull the luminosity of your skin.

4. Final touches

The final touch is illumination. To do this, it’s best to use a pearlescent powder in your T-zone, especially on your cheekbones.

Ever since its invention, lipstick has been one of the best options for making lips up. Throughout time, its texture has improved, through a combination with other elements than add shine. Many of them also contain SPF sunscreen and a protection again UVA rays.

We can also find matt lipsticks. These are a bit more difficult to apply, since they don’t run as smoothly over the lip. However, they also last longer, due to their ability to stick to the lip. Liquid lipstick combines lipstick and gloss. It is easy to apply and lasts as long as lipstick. Touche Brillance by Yves Saint Laurent is a good option.

LIPGLOSSES AND THEIR TEXTURES

Gloss texture is best for those of you who don’t like to wear a lot of make up on your lips. Since they have shine as their base they do not add much color to the lips, but moisturize them and give them a shiny look.

Permanent bars are excellent for those of you who have no time to touch up. It’s important to apply them well, since after a short while they are difficult to correct. Most of them are matt. There are some permanent lipsticks that combine liquid lipstick and gloss. You should apply the color first and then the gloss, which will eliminate the matt appearance. We recommend Pro Longwear Lipcolour by MAC.

Depending on what product you choose for your lips, it’s good to stay up to date with the latest colors and trends.

I hope my advice has been useful in showing you how to make lips up. Remember exfoliation and moisturizing and key to good results.

40s and 50s…. The look of today

Hello and welcome,

In this article we’ll be telling you about this season’s trends, the colors that are in and how to achieve this season’s fresh look. We will also look at some products to achieve that result.

This season’s makeup is inspired by the 40s and 50s, bringing a very sophisticated and glamorous look. Those decades stood out for their sophisticated image of extreme femininity: immaculate complexions, deep eyes and looks, and very red lips. This look will suit all of you, so read on.

Skin

Complexion is key to this season’s makeup. To create a clear complexion we must achieve a uniform surface without weighing the skin down with make up. The face must look as natural as possible. Caribbean tans and bright red cheeks are out. This season brings a healthy look, fresh healthy-looking faces. Choose the foundation closest to your skin color. The market offers a huge variety. Perfect Touch by Yves Saint Laurent is a very light foundation that offers amazing results. Its format, with a brush applicator, keeps you from getting dirty fingers. You won’t need to use sponges again. Another option is Perfectly Real makeup in Shade by Clinique.

Eyes

Eyes are the focus of makeup – catty looks that create an almond-shape effect. Colors don’t follow the trend of the 40s and 50s. You can choose the ones which suit you best, but keep in mind that this season we’ll be seeing a lot of dark or navy blue, coffee, ochre, and browns in general. Remember to finish off your eyes’ look and almond shape with a touch of black. Eyeliner is a strong trend this year. Automatic Eyeliner by Yves Saint Laurent is a good choice. Its incredible precision will make it your perfect ally for the season.

Add mystery to your eyes

To add mystery and glamour to your eyes, you mustn’t forget to apply mascara. Choose the one that suits your style best. Black is an all-time favorite, but dark blue is also a good option this season.

Lips

This season’s lips come in strong colors. Red tones are a fury, together with the whole range of plum, raspberry and Bordeaux colors. Don’t forget to treat them before applying makeup. Remember that firm healthy skin will really improve the way their look. Don’t forget to apply lipliner to keep the lipstick from smearing. This season’s tones are dark or very defined, so your stroke must be perfect. The shape you give is up to you but a Cupid’s bow will make your lips look very sensual.

Nails

When it comes to nails you must choose between two opposites: either bare or dark colored. The latest trend is wearing light colors, white or nearly transparent on your fingernails and black, red, Bordeaux or another very dark color on your toenails. This will create a contrast, giving you a very modern look. Try it out and you’ll see how great it looks.

I hope you put this advice into practice so that this coming season your look will be more glamorous than ever.

HOW TO GET THAT SAUGHT AFTER´´NUDE´ LOOK!!!

What is the ´nude´ look in makeup? How many times have we heard it this year and how many times will we hear it next year? A new source of inspiration gives us the fragile woman look with a celestial look and a taste for the delicate and subtle. In my opinion it is it is beauty in its purist state.

¨The skin shows off an immaculate aspect like the skin of an angel.¨

That being said, no pinks. We return to the world of beiges, creams, bone, and ivory. Before anything else, it is important to prepare, clean and moisturize the skin in order to get the ¨immaculate¨ look that we are looking for.

After moisturizing the skin, I use a primer (Max fix + from MAC cosmetics). As well as helping the makeup last longer, it makes it easier to put on base makeup and in increases the transparent effect. Try mixing it with a cream foundation. The result will be incredible! In order to achieve the skin of an angel look, I advise you to use satiny liquid foundation, never, matte, the effect is more transparent and the finish is more subtle. Apply it with the tip of the finger to blend it so that it looks invisible.

Use a bit of transparent powder to shade the more dangerous zones: the nose, the chin, and the forehead. The result will be impeccable!

Don’t abuse this product though, as it can diminish the natural shine of the skin.

Recommended products: gel makeup remover by Biosource Gelee Nettoyante Moussante, facial cleanser by Biosource, and lotion and moisturizer by Aquasource, everything by Biotherm, Face and Body, Blot powder, and Mac Fix +, and everything by MAC cosmetics.

“The color of the cheekbones is almost invisible”

Shading briefly with a cream blush using a few tones a bit darker than the base with give you a great finish.

If you want the upper cheek bone to stand out a bit, you can use a iluminador en crema,…

Recommended products: Blush Tantone and Cream color foundation, Pearl, everything from MAC cosmetics.

“A clean and celestial look”

Try a satiny eye showdown in a vanilla tone applied from the tear ducts to the temples and add a bit of white or cream pencil on the inner line between the eyelid and the eye lashes.

Never forget a good amount of mascara. It will help you draw the expression of the eye and give a look of mystery.

The eyebrows, which are just as important, should not be noticeable. A bit of clear gel with give them the optimum shine.

Recommended products: Eyeshadow Vanilla and Brown set clear, everything from MAC cosmetics, vanilla eye pencil from the Make Up store, and Dioreshow mascara.

“Naked lips”

Our objective here is to make the natural rosyness of the lips disappear. First and most important is to moisturize the lips. This way you will avoid those unpleasant cracked lips that drive us makeup artists crazy. To get this look, mix and apply a bit of foundation apply with the tip of the finger. For a shinny effect, just add a bit of gloss in skin color.

Recommended products: Lip conditioner from MAC cosmetics, lip-gloss Underage from MAC cosmetics.

And that’s it!!! You’ve got that ever sought after nude look!!

24 PROFESSIONAL TRICKS ON HOW TO PUT MAKEUP ON PEOPLE WITH EYEGLASSES, TO DETERMINE WHAT TEXTURES ARE MOST FLATTERING AND EASY TO USE, AND HOW TO TRANSFORM THE SHAPE AND SIXE OF THE EYE

1. The right peeling and, above all, a good design and makeup for the eyebrows guarantee that the eyes will take on there best look.

2. To make the tip of an eye pencil more resistant, warm it up with your hands for 2 minutes.

3. For sensitive or easily irritated eyes use a khol pencil that is specially designed not to irritate the eye.

4. Always use a sharpener designed for makeup use only to avoid the tip from breaking or clogging.

5. Sharpen the pencil right before using it so that it is soft.

6. Underline the eyelid just near the eyelashes as this will make the eye look bigger.

7. If you want a very elaborate makeup, you can blend a cream eye shadow on the eyelid after putting on a powder one.

8. Be careful with colors. For day makeup neutral colors are more flattering. Don’t overdo it with too much color, save that for nighttime.

9. A bit of white eyeliner on the edge of the upper and lower eyelid lightens up the look.

10. If the makeup turns out to strong or doesn´t look like you wanted it to, you can soften it by using a bit of transparent powder applied with a small makeup brush.

11. The shape of the eye dictates the colors you should use base on a simple principle: clear tone bring out eyes while dark tones make the eye appear deeper.

12. Darker tones should be applied on the edge of the eyelashes and light tones are used to lighten up the inner part of the eye.

13. During the day it´s better to use neutral tones such as grays, browns, pinks, black and beige.

14. Matte and semi matte tones are flattering for everyone.

15. Pearly tones are very difficult to wear because they are very visible and make small defect stand out instead of hide them.

16. In general, deep tones go well with matte and tanned skin will pastel tones go better with pale skin.

17. Eye makeup should be applied as close to the eye as possible to give it a more natural look.

18. For people with bags under their eyes you should use gray and smoky tones as well as browns.

19. Mature eyes should never use pearly tones. They should use matte and soft tones.

20. For green eyes okra and earthy tones are very flattering and for evening makeup use pinks.

21. For blue eyes use gray tones and for evening makeup use yellows and golds.

22. For brown eyes use yellows, pinks and salmons and browns and for evening makeup you can use warm blues.

23. For dark eyes use light gray as well as smoky and pink tones.

24. Using glasses should not get in the way of wearing makeup but the makeup used should be adapted according to the type of glasses.

Near sightedness: the eyes appear smaller so you want to make them look bigger by drawing a thicker outline.

Far sightedness: this type of glasses distort and make the eye look bigger so you should avoid anything that makes the eye look bigger and you should use soft and matte tones and blend them well. You should also use very light mascara. Glasses for astigmatism affect the eye the least. Avoid mute tones.

In this article I’ll be telling you about micropigments – lips and eyes made up 24 hours – and the solution for hair loss in the eyebrows.

Dermopigmentation or micropigmentation is a procedure used since antiquity in which particles of different substances are placed under the skin to create permanent designs. In the 1940s we see the first medical tattoos, and in the 1970s the first esthetic ones.

I you are willing to undergo this treatment, you should look for a professional place where they have good knowledge of the pigments and their possible mixtures, and their professionals show patience, meticulousness and artistic qualities, which are all essential to a good practice.

INSTRUCTIONS

Esthetic or beauty micropigmentation is used to fill in the case of hairloss in the eyebrows, to outline and add volume to lips and to draw an eyeline, both in the lover and upper eyelid.

After the treatment inflammation occurs. It’s secondary to the trauma produced by the repeated penetration of the needles to deposit the pigment. Then starts a process of cicatrisation, with a small scab forming on the surface of the skin. After that, the dermis starts regenerating and the collagen in the skin becomes remodeled. Lastly, the dermis is completely repaired and the pigment particles become distributed.

The machine used in dermopigmentation has a motor that produces a to and fro movement of the needles inserted at its tip. The pigments used are non-toxic and don’t cause irritation, since they are vegetable.

Let yourself be advised by professionals, but it’s important to be conscious and able to give your opinion on the change taking place, since it is you who has to undergo it.

EYEBROWS

To get harmonic eyebrows, the professional will take some measurements and then make a drawing in pencil, so you can get an idea of the final result. Then the filling process begins.

LIPS

To draw the lips correctly, there are also a series of imaginary lines across the face that help determine proportion and shape. It’s important to choose a color that’s only one or two shades darker than your own, so the result is as natural as possible and you can avoid using lipstick.

EYELASHES

The process for eyelashes is much simpler, as the professional merely follows the outline of the eyelashes. The only variation possible is in the thickness desired, which is achieved by running over the same line several times. The line on the lower and upper eyelids is drawn over the eyelashes and between them. It’s advisable not to end the line at the very end of the outer eye, but to leave the last 3 or 4 lashes out.

I hope this information has been helpful in clearing your ideas before undergoing micropigmentation.

Hello and welcome,

In this issue I’ll be giving you advice on how to choose the best products for lips everyone will envy.

Depending on how you make them up, they can be exotic, provocative or romantic. As we all know, having healthy lips requires a certain amount of care.

PREPARED FOR SUCCESS

It’s important you prepare lips before making them up. You can use a moisturizing and protecting balsam, which contain elements that do not only do this, but smooth over the wrinkles, leaving the lips ready to be made up. You can also use a lip exfoliating cream, such as Yves Saint Laurent’s Baume Nourrissant. They moisturize and contain small sugar particles that remove through friction the small bits of skin that make lips look unhealthy and make applying makeup more difficult.

A GOOD TRICK

You can apply foundation over the lips or face powder to make lipstick last longer.

There are several lipstick textures, each of them offering different results and duration: lipsticks, lipgloss, and permanent sticks.

LIPLINER

You should try to pick a lipliner that is close in color to the tone of the lips or the lipstick or gloss chosen. You should use the lipliner to outline the lips, always keeping to the natural shape and correcting where necessary by blurring with a brush or the fingertips towards the center of the lips and filling the center with lipliner.

Now that you know the first steps you need to take, we’ll look at how to choose the right texture for your lips.

THE ORIGIN OF LIPSTICK

Hello and welcome,

In this article I’ll be talking about one of the styles that is back from the 60s and 70s.

Those decades marked some of biggest changes in fashion. Each one is known for certain garments and accessories, such as the skinny pants of the 60s or the wide flowery skirts of the 70s.

The 60s

The 60s brought Rock and Roll and skinny trousers, which ousted skirts and are now doing the same to bell-bottoms and wide trousers. Tight trousers are making a come back this fall-winter, as are straight, high cut ones, both in denim and other materials. They stylize the female figure and are very comfortable to dance in. Together with them came ballet flats. They are in again this season, allowing you to look elegant without having to wear heels. And, the best part is that they are easy to combine with all sorts of clothes and always look great.

Leggings are also back. They’re a must-have, very comfortable and suitable both for the heat and the cold. They’ve become the ideal complement to skirts and short dresses. The most popular colors in are black and white.

The 70s

From the 70s we get fur on waistcoats, coats, and leopard skin prints can be found everywhere: on t-shirts, tops, leggings, etc. We mustn’t forget the military trend, which was already in last season and we can also find this season only more feminine. We will see a lot of military green and clothes inspired in military uniforms. So if you have any clothes in this style from last season, you can take them out again, they’re still trendy.

And now…

Garments with a strong retro look are very in this season. Suits and, especially coats inspired in the 18th and 19th centuries, Empire cut, crossed over and with big lapels are in. These coats take us back in time to Napoleon’s era.

Balloon skirts and dresses are also very much in fashion. This kind of cut makes gives garments a very romantic and feminine look, though we must take into account that they don’t suit all women.

Prints

One of the prints taking this season’s catwalks by store is houndstooth. We can see it on all sorts of clothes, especially on jackets and ¾ length coats. Suit trousers cut over the knee are also huge this year.

Another basic print this year are checkers. They will be all over jackets, dresses, trousers, sweaters, giving them all a British air.

I hope this overview helps you find what you need. Now that we’ve traveled through time and we know what next season has in store for us, remember you can always look in grandma’s closet to find the most fashionable retro.

In this article I’ll explain how to do the trendiest makeup: smokey eyes.

Let’s start at the very beginning

Before applying any makeup you should always cleanse the skin and moisturize it, allowing a few minutes for it to penetrate the skin before starting. This will make your makeup last longer. Then correct whatever you need to, such as red or blue areas. Use concealer not only under the eyes, but also over the moving eyelid. This will allow the shadow to slide easier over the eyelid and keeps it from becoming patchy.

Foundation

Apply the foundation chosen for each type of skin. If you want to achieve a natural result, the foundation must be the same tone as the skin or a tone higher in winter and up to two in summer. If necessary, and depending on the effect you’re trying to achieve, you can apply face powder.

The eyes

Once you’ve finished making up the skin, it’s time to pass on to the eyes. To achieve smoky eyes, we’ll choose the color black. It’s important to start by applying the shadow bit by bit over the moving part of the eyelid. Pick a brush with tight, close bristles and extend it from the inside out and then from the center in. That way you are applying the biggest quantity of shadow in the center of the eyelid and then bringing the biggest intensity to the outer part of the eyelid instead of towards the lachrymal.

Once you’ve shaped the smoky eyes and checked both eyes look the same, you can start intensifying the outer part of the moving eyelid. Then with a looser-bristled brush, start expanding the shade in circular upward movements. Be careful not to reach the eyebrows, since you must leave a space there to apply a lighter shadow that will brighten up the gaze. You will apply that after the mascara. Choose a black mascara that adds volume and thickens the eyelashes, making the eyes look more intense. It’s important to apply mascara first to the lower eyelids and then to the upper ones. That way you won’t dirty the shadow. Then comb the eyelashes outwards, curving them with an eyebrush (this is the same as a mascara brush but without any product on it). And now apply the lighter shadow to the space left under the eyebrow. The tones can be gold, champagne, or pearl white. This will brighten the gaze.

Pencils

Using a pencil, then draw a line across the lower eyelid and paint over that line with a shadow, continuing it to the lachrymal. This will make the line last longer, and make it look more intense.

The cheeks

For the cheeks choose a pink tone, which will make the face look fresher and brighter. Extend this up to the temple and blur it out over the cheekbone.

For the lips use a natural lipliner only to draw their shape. You can choose either a tea-colored or beige lipstick and, if you like, you can apply a touch of lipgloss to the center of the lower lip as well as the upper one to add volume.

I hope this advice is useful to you. If you follow all the steps I’m sure you will be able to do this trendy make up successfully.
