Beauty Makeup on a Budget
In today's economy, there is no shame in saying that extra cash may be hard to come by. You do not always have the funds to purchase new products. This is just a little advice on making the most of the products you already have and use so that they'll last longer and produce better results.
Mascara
Don't pump the wand in and out of the tube. Every time you do this, you're drying out the product more and more and it'll be dried out before you had bargained for. Instead, twist the wand inside the tube in a circular fashion without pumping. This way you even get the product that is on the sides without drying out what's in the tube.
When your mascara is ready to be thrown out, keep the wand. You can wash it out and use it to groom your eyebrows.
After applying the first coat of mascara, dust some powder on them when they are still wet. Apply a second coat. Your lashes look plumper in an instant.
Don't share your mascara, or eye pencils, for that matter. Germs and diseases are easily spread this way and you would have to replace them all immediately.
Brushes versus Sponges
Invest in a foundation brush. Sponges apply liquid foundation well and offer good coverage but tend to soak up much more than you would use normally. A foundation brush minimises wastage and executes a flawless natural look. Make sure you wash it often to keep it clean.
Concealer
Apply concealer after your foundation. It's so easy to overuse this product and you can end up with a vacant deer in the headlights look. Applying the foundation first ensures that you don't have to use as much concealer as the foundation would've done half, if not all, of the work already.
A thick creamy concealer works almost as well as an eyeshadow primer. Blot excess oil off eyelids and apply an even coat of concealer. Pat a light dusting of powder to set it.
Tighten Caps
Close all containers tightly after use. Don't leave open for bacteria to enter and breed.
Shake Things Up
Shake your liquid foundation a little before opening and applying. This way the pigments get evenly distributed and you get the best even coverage.
Cap It Off
Run out of concealer? No worries! Use the foundation around the top of the container or in the cap. It tends to be thicker and creamier, just like a concealer.
Brush It Off
Your toothbrush is not just for your teeth and tongue. It's for your whole mouth! After brushing your teeth, rinse off the suds and gently buff your lips. Do it everyday and you would kiss flaking and dryness goodbye.
Take Intensive Care
Vaseline or petroleum jelly is just as good as a lip balm for keeping lips soft and moist.
Be sure to include these easy tips in your routine to increase the longevity of your everyday products so that you can keep on saving.
